  • Job Details
  • Provides specialized cardiovascular care, while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort.
  • Performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment, and evaluates patient response to diagnostic cardiac procedures.
  • Proficient in the operation and maintenance of all diagnostic and therapeutic equipment used for procedures in the specific area of operation.
  • Performs accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by physician.
  • Performs specialized testing using computer assisted devices including TEE, Stress Echo, Pharmacological Stress Echo's.
  • Cross trained to perform EKG's, Treadmills, and Holter monitors as needed.
  • Maintains and reviews equipment, ensuring proper function and calibration of machines.
  • Maintains high skill level through participation in CQI, in services, ongoing education, and attendance at 80% of staff meetings.
  • Ability to provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and/or facility policy.
  • Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual results or patient response by informing primary health care team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes.
  • Must be able to deal with many different personality types, ages and levels of consciousness of patients.
  • Must be able to adjust approach based on patient/family level of understanding of test procedure.
  • Promptly trouble-shoots and corrects recording instrument malfunction or unusual patient problems that interfere with recordings.
  • Independently prioritizes clinical and administrative work and identifies process improvements.
  • Process patient and department records ensuring documentation of performed tests in accordance with hospital standards.
    • Job Requirements
    • One year of experience in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography), preferred.
    • Float Requirements: Floating may be required to any CommonSpirit location within sixty (60) miles of the original assignment location or CommonSpirit-identified "float zone". Float assignments may include duties outside of original assignment job requirements in accordance with CommonSpirit policy.
