Job Description:

A company is looking for a HIPAA Subject Matter Expert/Technical Analyst to support the Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights.



Key Responsibilities

Review security and privacy complaints, data breach notifications, and cybersecurity incident reports for HIPAA compliance
Evaluate technical submissions from HIPAA covered entities and business associates regarding security measures and incident responses
Develop reports with technical analyses and recommendations for action regarding health information privacy policies and technologies


Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Sciences, or a related field
Ten years of relevant cybersecurity experience is preferred
Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CIPP/CIPT are preferred
Fundamental knowledge of computer security procedures and protocols
Experience in risk management and incident response related to protected health information
