Whether through research and development, technology innovation or solution engineering, our people play vital roles in connecting consumers with the products and platforms of tomorrow.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesDISH, an EchoStar company, is seeking a Development Manager who will be responsible for leading and managing a highly skilled group of technical team members.Key Responsibilities:Provide leadership in guiding the technical staff to implement new product services as well as provide support in managing existing set of microservicesCoordinate and collaborate with BSS and OSS application SMEs, Technical and Care operations to ensure optimal integration experience.Manage all the activities of the software development teams to ensure high quality and on-time project deliveriesPerform regular reviews and brainstorming with the technical teams to identify solution gaps and provide ideas for improvementsAssist senior management in strategic project planning, roll out and monitoringDrive efficiencies and work on continuous improvements in project quality through automation and other innovative ideasCoordinate with Product Managers & Product Owners to review and refine software requirements and define specificationsLead team in producing solution approach and designs in coordination with the ArchitectsEnsure compliance with company engineering standards, policies, and procedures.Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.Mentor and coach the team members in achieving team as well as personal growth goalsConduct team meetings as well as one on ones with developers, senior management and peers as neededSkills, Experience and RequirementsEducation and Experience:3+ years of technical management experience3+ years of experience in software development with the following technologies: Java/J2EE, Spring/Springboot, Microservices & Event Driven architecture, OpenAPI Specification, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Restful API and API management tools (Apigee, API Gateway, etc.)Skills and Qualifications:Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, and suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner.Capacity Planning, Prioritization and Organizing effectivelyAbility to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressureAbility to provide coaching and counseling when necessaryStatus reporting/road mappingWireless Telecom backgroundProficiency AWS cloud technologiesExpertise in Containerization/Orchestration tools and Docker/KubernetesSalary RangesCompensation: $110,100.00/Year - $157,300.00/YearBenefitsWe offer versatile health perks, including flexible spending accounts, HSA, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, career opportunities, and a flexible time away plan; all benefits can be viewed here: DISH Benefits .The base pay range shown is a guideline.
